Heide is a former part of the municipality of Ruppichteroth . Today it belongs to the central place.

Heide lies in the valley of the Waldbrölbach . Neighboring hamlets were Buch in the west, Kesselscheid in the south and Huppach in the north.

history

In 1644 there was a noble court of the barons von Scheidt called Weschpfennig on the heath . If necessary, he had to provide a horse and had to deliver two loads of oats.

In 1809 there were 21 Catholic residents in the hamlet. At that time the place belonged to the Commüne Velken .

1901 had the then-village of 14 inhabitants, the families of Ackerin widow Arnold Stommel and Ackerers Franz Josef Stommel. In 1910 only one field by Joh. Stommel was recorded.
