history
According to the beam inscription of house no. 1, this was built in 1725. The eponymous powder mill was in operation here until 1853 . In 1797, Peter Unger, as the owner, asked Elector von Berg to waive the taxes. In 1847 the mill was owned by the Rödder brothers. Five workers were employed, several of whom were killed in an explosion. In 1853 Heinrich Rödder applied to convert the mill into a fruit mill and a bone pounder.
In 1910 only the household of the bricklayer Heinrich Piller was recorded for the powder mill.
The property is now used by the Diakonie Michaelshoven as a social facility.
The house and part of the outbuilding were placed under monument protection.
