Propach is a village in the town of Waldbröl in the Oberbergisches Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ) within the administrative district of Cologne .
Location and description
The place is about 8.3 km southwest of Waldbröl and 2.7 km east of Ruppichteroth on the slopes of the Nutscheid . Surrounding towns are Schönhausen , Neuroth , Benroth and Pulvermühle in the north, Obergeilenkausen in the east, Neuenhähnen in the southeast, Krahwinkel in the south and Niederpropach in the west.
history
In 1550, Alef in the Proppich is the first person in Propach to be recorded. 1575 a Claeß zu Propach and his son are named. Claeß paid for the use of water at Homburg for the hammer and the oil mill on their own property. 1784 pasture law dispute, also called "ox war" between Propach and Benroth, ended before the Bergisches Hofgericht.
