Bohlenhagen is a village in the town of Waldbröl in the Oberbergisches Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia within the administrative district of Cologne .

geography

Bohlenhagen is located on the south and east slopes of the Kissel. This also represents the highest hill bordering the place. In the south the village is bordered by the Bohlenhagener Bach. The place is west of the city center of Waldbröl.

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1508: "Symon's wife van Boellenhayn is mentioned during an exchange between Berg and Sayn ".

economy

In the early years of the village, agriculture was the only economic factor for the people who lived there.

There are now no more farms. There is only one beverage market in town.

The A2 hiking trail leads from Waldbröl through Bohlenhagen.

Bohlenhagen is part of the Rhainland cycling region and is home to junction 11.

Events

Every year on the last Sunday in August, the car-free Sunday takes place in the Waldbröl and Nümbrecht area.

The cycle route runs along the north-south axis through the town center. Every two years, a break station / stamping point for the circuit is organized by the residents in the village square. Since 2016, a bicycle service by the Evangelical Alliance Waldbröl has been taking place on the morning of car-free Sunday at this time.
