The solitary living space is at a height of 270  m above sea level. NHN on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Distant neighboring towns are Lindscheid in the northeast, Dörgen in the east, Oeleroth in the southeast, Köttingen in the south, Hodgeroth in the northwest and Straße in the north.

history

Schmitzhöfgen was part of the original municipality of Ruppichteroth. In the Prussian community encyclopedia from 1888, the place was recorded as a community unit with a residential building, but without residents. Schmitzhöfgen was not mentioned in the 1910 population register of the Siegkreis .
