Bröleck is a district of the municipality of Ruppichteroth on federal road 478 . Here the Bröl and Waldbrölbach flow together.

Emergence

The place with its current name has only existed since November 16, 1956. The name of Felderhoferbrücke, which belongs to the municipality of Ruppichteroth, had a name that was too long in the opinion of 95% of the residents there. The municipality accepted the request to change the place name to Bröleck . The settlements at that time belonging to the municipality of Winterscheid, Felderhof (first documented mentions in 1487 as “Veld”, 1644 as “Velderhoff”), Tüschenhohn (1644 as “Tuschenhaen”), Sieferhof (1490 as “Syffen”), Haus Bröleck and Lindenhof joined Approval of the Winterscheider municipal council to the new place.

In 1809, the Felderhof had 420 Catholic residents, the Sieferhof 18 and Tüschenhohn 10.

In earlier times, the Felderhoferbrücke was a stop on the Bröltalbahn .

In 1910 the Hotel-Restaurant Bahnhof was run by Johann Büscher. With office 13 he had one of the few telephone connections outside of Ruppichteroth-Ort. Another restoration was the Hotel-Restaurant Wilhelm Linke, whose widow also ran the postal agency.

Personalities

Fifi Kreutzer lived in Felderhoferbrücke from 1923 to 1934 with her husband Franz M. Jansen . Here her guest Josef Winckler wrote the novel The great Bomberg .
