history

Before the school building was built in 1831, there was only a single courtyard at the junction of the paths to Niederlückerath and Oberlückerath . The locality was popularly called Plazët . The school district comprised 16 hamlets and farms. In 1861 the number of students was 162, so a second teacher was hired. In 1866 the number of pupils was 223. Evangelical and Jewish children received special exemptions for religious reasons. From 1910 the school operations were partially relocated to Schönenberg. In 1912 a new school building was built in Schönenberg and the school in Rose was closed.

In 1901 the teacher Joh. Josef Wick and 10 other family members were listed on the former single farm, in 1910 there was only the family of the day laborer Peter Arnold Lindlahr.
