Büchel is a district of the municipality of Ruppichteroth in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

The place is in the Bergisches Land nature park between Bröleck (in the east) and Reiferscheid (in the west). To the north is the village of Thilhove , to the south the B 478 runs through the wooded area of ​​the Bröltal .

history

In 1712 five families with 16 souls lived here : Heinrich Schmit, Peter Schumacher, Leonard Limbach, Wittwe Reifferscheidts and Johannes Peter Schumacher. In 1809 the place had 33 Catholic residents.

The Büchel elementary school was built in 1887. The school was closed in 1968. After 1973 the building was used as a kindergarten.

In 1910 in Büchel there were the households Ackerer Johann Brambach, day laborer Heinrich Ferres, Rottenarbeiter Johann Hupperich, Ackerer Johann Manz, teacher Johann Müller, Gasthof Konrad Rolland and pensioner Daniel Wasser.

In 1934 Fifi Kreutzer moved to the village with her husband Franz M. Jansen .

Until August 1, 1969, Büchel was part of the municipality of Winterscheid . In the course of the incorporation of Winterscheid to Ruppichteroth, Büchel became part of this community.
