The Untergangskommando was a German punk band from Mainz . The entire work consists primarily of socially critical, political and textually complex pieces. Nevertheless, the band had their greatest success with the song Punk + Polizei , which is more likely to be assigned to funpunk.

history

In the summer of 1994 Michel, Steffen, Pätzi, OMA and Strohbü founded the Untergangskommando . The still young band recorded a demo tape after a short time and played some amateurish live performances. In 1995 they signed a record deal with Impact Records . A year later, their first album Tatort ALDI was released . The Maxi Morgenrot followed in February 1997 and the album Hol 'dir die Pest in the summer of the same year . At the beginning of 1998 the band separated from guitarist Steffen and could only replace him with Ätzy at the turn of the year. After this and Strohbü left the band, the remaining band decided to split up.

Today Michel sings at Wilde Zeiten and OMA plays bass at Love's Labor's Lost . Pätzi has been playing guitar at Front since 2003 . Ätzy has switched from guitar to drums again and has been playing with the Wiesbaden band Chinese Wrist Burn since 2005 , Strohbü plays drums with the punk rock band Auf ans Meer .
