The Upton rock is a cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 5 km northwest of the Flat Top Peninsula of King George Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on 1961 after Benjamin Upton, captain of the US sealer Nancy from Salem , who operated in the waters around the South Shetland Islands between 1820 and 1822.
