Ur-Ninurta

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ur-Ninurta was the sixth king of the 1st dynasty of Isin and ruled from 1923 to 1896 BC. It appears in a text that gives rise to the assumption that the investiture of the kings took place in the course of a meeting of the gods. The wealthy Larsa had become a rival town for Isin and conflict arose. Ur-Ninurta was finally defeated by Abisare , the king of Larsa.
