history

Lengefeld was first mentioned in a document on August 1, 1328, when Margrave Friedrich von Meißen enfeoffed Vogt Heinrich Reuss von Plauen with the village of the same name. An older deed of donation from Count Sigfrid von Orlamünde to the Mildenfurth monastery , dated 1184 , in which Heinrich von Leniveld testified, is considered unsafe. Until 1918 the place was divided into two parts: four farms, the smithy and the inn belonged to Saxony ( Ziegenhierdsches Ländchen ), two farms to Sachsen-Altenburg . Formerly belonging to the care Langenberg and liable to pay a fee, they were later subordinated to the manor Kauern and the superintendent of Ronneburg . The place parish and schooled after Liebschütz ; in 1834 it had eleven houses and 46 inhabitants.

In 1928, as part of the exchange of land between the states of Saxony and Thuringia founded in 1919, the exclaves located in Thuringia came to Thuringia and were combined to form the municipality of Poris-Lengefeld. Belonging to what was then the district of Gera, it was incorporated into the city of Gera on July 1, 1950.
