geography
Langengrobsdorf is the westernmost district of Gera on the border to the administrative community of Münchenbernsdorf in the district of Greiz .
history
According to the development and the name, Langengrobsdorf cannot deny its German origins. Langengrobsdorf was first mentioned in a document as Langengrabistorf in a document from Heinrich von Gera dated February 8, 1416 about a foundation for the All Saints Chapel in Schleiz .
The feudal and inheritance courts over the place were until 1650, depending on the property, the manors Groß- and Kleinsaara , from that year the family united both goods in one hand. In 1729 the Reuss family acquired the manor and converted it into a chamber manor. Since then, the chamber property court has been looked after by the Russian justice office in Gera.
Langengrobsdorf did not have its own church or school and belonged together with goats , large and small Saara to the Saara parish . The place trained after Geißen and parish temporarily after Geißen or Großsaara . In 1827 the place had 10 houses and 47 inhabitants.
On July 1, 1950, the place was incorporated into Gera. At the end of 1960, Langengrobsdorf was the only suburb of Geras that was not yet fully organized.
