The district of Otticha , together with Wüstfalke , Großfalka , Kleinfalke and Niebra, forms the Gera locality of Falka with a total of 416 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

Otticha is located in the southeastern corner of the city of Gera and borders the district of Greiz .

history

Otticha is laid out as a Sorbian round village. It was notarized as Utichow , Ottichaw or Ottichen . This name points to the foundation by an Otto.

In 1827 the place had 10 houses and 51 inhabitants. As an exclave in the Saxony-Altenburg area, it belonged to the Reuss younger line until 1919 .

On July 1, 1950, Otticha was incorporated into the municipality of Falka and with it on April 1, 1994, it was incorporated into the city of Gera.

Großfalka, Kleinfalke with the corresponding Wüstfalke, Niebra and Otticha have been incorporated into the city of Gera since April 1st, 1994 . Since then, the places have formed the Falka district of the city of Gera with its own local constitution and local council (until II / 2009 local council) .
