Scheubengrobsdorf has been a district of Gera since October 1, 1923 . Since 2010, together with Frankenthal , it has formed the Frankenthal / Scheubengrobsdorf district of the city of Gera with a total of 1741 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011); since 2014 it has been part of the new Westvororte district .

Scheubengrobsdorf is located on the western edge of the urban area in the Saarbach valley between Windischenbernsdorf and Frankenthal .
history
Scheubengrobsdorf was possibly mentioned as Grobatzdorf as early as 1384 , whereby this mention could also refer to Langengrobsdorf . Disc-Grobsdorf was later also common, the place name is rooted here as a location name on the disc near Gera.
The first reliable mention of the place comes from May 14, 1499 - Heinrich the Elder, Herr zu Gera and Lobenstein sold the Vorwerk zu (Scheuben) Grobsdorf to Heinrich von Ende zu Töppeln.
The place parish, trained and buried after Frankenthal. A first school house was built in 1680. In 1963 the construction of the ten-class general education polytechnic secondary school Scheubengrobsdorf for the western suburbs of Gera was completed. After the fall of the Wall , the school year 1991/1992 was divided into elementary and regular schools, the elementary school section was named State Elementary School 3 of the city of Gera, and from 2004 elementary school Saarbachtal .
On October 1, 1923, the place was incorporated into the city of Gera together with Windischenbernsdorf and Frankenthal.
In August 1981, after heavy rainfall, the Saarbach flooded with devastating consequences.
Scheubengrobsdorf manor
The manor Scheubengrobsdorf was a diet capable manor . The patrimonial jurisdiction in the form of inheritance jurisdiction over Scheubengrobsdorf, Windischenbernsdorf and parts of Frankenthal was connected with the possession of the manor . The lower jurisdiction was abolished on January 1, 1855.
The Scheubengrobsdorf manor was owned by the von Ende family at the end of the 17th century . From 1671 it belonged to the Limmer family, from 1703 to the Menius family, from 1729 to the Dathe family and from 1855 to the Coder family. At the place of the later manor house there used to be a moated castle, parts of its moat have been preserved to this day at the so-called Jägerhaus . For 1827 22 houses and the manor are recorded.

Scheubengrobsdorf, together with Frankenthal, has formed a district of the city of Gera with its own district council since 2010 . Erik Buchholz (independent) was elected mayor of Frankenthal / Scheubengrobsdorf on September 26, 2010 and was re-elected on May 25, 2014. When the new main statutes of the city of Gera came into force on June 1, 2014, Frankenthal and Scheubengrobsdorf were combined with Windischenbernsdorf to form the Westvororte district .
