District constitution

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A district constitution can be introduced by municipalities in Thuringia for all or for individual districts in accordance with Section 45 of the Thuringian Municipal Code .

The introduction takes place through regulation in the main statute of the municipality. Several neighboring districts can jointly receive a district constitution. In districts with a district constitution, a district mayor and a district council may be elected. The district constitution can be revoked again if the election of the district mayor and the election of the other members of the district council remain unsuccessful even after one repetition. Otherwise, the district constitution can be revoked or changed at the earliest at the end of the municipal council's statutory term of office . The resolution requires a majority of the legal number of municipal council members.
