Urbanus (saint)

Urbanus is a holy bishop and martyr of the 1st century.

He is traditionally identified with Urbanus , whom Paul calls his helper in Romans ( Rom 16.9  EU ); but this equation is unproven. He is said to have later become bishop in Macedonia and was martyred together with three fellow believers in a popular gathering . Urbanus is venerated as a saint ; his feast day is October 31st .
