Ureteral carcinoma

A Ureterkarzinom or ureter is a rare malignant tumor of the ureter , which in over 95% of cases as urothelial carcinoma and 2-3%, especially in kidney stone patients as squamous occurs. The peak of the disease is 50 to 60 years of age. The ratio of men to women is 2 to 3: 1.

Symptoms

  • Traces of blood in the urine as microhematuria , d. H. only recognizable by tests or as macrohematuria , d. H. Blood discharges are visible

diagnosis

Means ureterorenoscopy an endoscopic inspection of the ureter and possibly a is biopsy performed.

therapy

  • Radical ureteronephrectomy with a bladder cuff is recommended for cancer of the upper urinary tract .
  • Endoscopic, organ-preserving procedures ( resection or laser treatment) can be used for well-differentiated smaller carcinomas.
