Heriger († December 1, 927 ) was Archbishop of Mainz from 913 to 927 .

After the death of Archbishop Hattos I , Heriger was raised to the Mainz ore chair in 913. Heriger occurred repeatedly as intervenor in the documents of the Duke of Franks and king of East Francia Conrad I on. He took part in the Synod of Hohenaltheim to protect the endangered kingship.

When Heriger offered the anointing to his successor Heinrich I in Fritzlar after Konrad's death , Heinrich refused: he wanted to be content with having been lifted out of the greats of his empire by the king's name - however, anointing and coronation should be reserved for more worthy people. Nevertheless, Heriger recognized the kingship.

In the following years he can often be found in Heinrich's surroundings. On November 7th, he reaffirmed the Treaty of Bonn 921 between Heinrich and Charles the Simple . In 922 he took part in the Synod of Koblenz and can also be traced back to the Reichstag in Worms in November 926.
