Urishay Castle
Urishay Castle is a ruined castle about 2.5 km west of the village of Peterchurch in the English county of Herefordshire .
history
The first part of the name Urishay is derived from the proper name Ulric or Urri . Its owner was the tenant of the property in the 12th century. The second part comes from the word '' Hay '', which describes an enclosure in a light forest in which game could be caught with traps.
Even if the property is referred to as "Urishay Castle", it is not exactly known whether it was actually a castle or just a large house.
