Urmas Roosimägi

Urmas Roosimägi (* 1958 ) is a former Estonian Brigadier General . D., who was Chief of Staff of the Estonian Armed Forces in 2008-09 . From 2009 to 2016 he was Chairman of the Tapa Municipal Council .

Military career

Urmas Roosimägi began his military training in 1980 at a military academy in Kiev. In the following years he served in the Soviet Army and rose to the rank of battalion commander. In 1991 he joined the Estonian Armed Forces .

In the following years he held various leadership positions in the Estonian army. In 2008 he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. In this post he was promoted to Brigadier General in the spring of 2009. In the same year he retired from active military service and was transferred to the reserve.
