Tapa (Eng. Taps ) is a municipality in the Estonian district of Lääne-Viru with an area of 480 km². It has 11,049 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2018).
history
At the end of 2005, the municipality of Tapa was created through the merger of the city of Tapa with the municipalities of Lehtse and Saksi . Another merger with the municipality of Tamsalu took place at the end of 2017.

structure
The administrative seat of Tapa is located in the homonymous town of Tapa , which belongs to the municipality . In addition, the city of Tamsalu has also been part of the community since 2017 .
