Sara Teitelbaum
Sara Teitelbaum (* July 7 . Jul / 20th July 1910 greg. In Tapa , † 7. June 1941 in Tallinn ) was an Estonian athlete .
Life and sport
Teitelbaum belonged to the Jewish community in Estonia . She attended the Jewish high school in Tallinn. At the age of 15 she began to be active in sports. In 1928 she became a member of the Estonian Maccabi sports club founded in 1920.
During her sporting career, she was Estonian champion 17 times in various athletics disciplines between 1927 and 1930 and set a total of 28 national records. In addition to athletics, she was also active in volleyball and basketball .
She died of tuberculosis in June 1941 and was buried in the Jewish cemetery in the Rahumäe district of Tallinn . The Estonian weightlifter Rubin Teitelbaum (1907–1941) is her brother.
