history

In 1880 Gisler Druck AG (today Gisler 1843 AG) received the order to print the Urner Wochenblatt . Co-founder and editor of the weekly newspaper was the Landammann and Councilor of States Gustav Muheim , who turned the newspaper into a party sheet of the Catholic Conservative Party . In 2006, Gisler Druck AG took over the meanwhile politically independent forum newspaper from the publishing cooperative at the time and thus also took over responsibility for publishing. The company, which was renamed Gisler 1843 AG in 2016, is the only media company in Uri with services in the areas of printing, media and advertising. It also publishes the Uristier Free Gazette - Anzeiger Uri and prints the Uri Official Gazette .
