Ursula Bogner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since 2008, two albums with electronic music have been released under the name Ursula Bogner on Jan Jelinek's record label Faitiche . According to the label, Ursula Bogner is a real private musician. On the other hand, Bogner was referred to by various music journalists as "Jelinek's invention" or a " pseudonym " of the musician.

history

According to the label, Bogner was born in Dortmund in 1946 and moved to West Berlin at the age of 19 to study pharmacy there. After that, Bogner is said to have worked for Schering AG . In her private life she developed a strong interest in musique concrète and electronically produced music and followed the activities of the studio for electronic music in Cologne . She attended seminars of the studio founder Herbert Eimert and began in the late 1960s with the production of her own pieces of music, which she recorded on tape . In addition, she dealt with painting and the linocut technique. In later years she developed an interest in the "primordial cosmic" energy of orgone postulated by Wilhelm Reich . She is said to have died in Berlin in 1994.

The son Sebastian Bogner, who was born out of the marriage, is said to have met Jelinek during a flight, whereupon Jelinek decided to make Bogner's music accessible to the public. The first album Recordings 1969-1988 was released in 2008, the second album Sonne = Black Box in 2011. The first album already received good to very good reviews in both national and international music media.

Jelinek performed part of the Bogner composition Schleusen (sonor) as a “concert for six signalgenerators ” twice live with Gabriele “Mo” Loschelder , Andrew Pekler, Tim Tetzner, Kassian von Troyer and Holger Zapf (December 2009 in the Laura Mars gallery Grp. Berlin; February 2011 in the Festsaal Kreuzberg as part of CTM11 ).
