Gabriele Loschelder

Gabriele "Mo" Loschelder (* 1962 in Düsseldorf ) is a German painter, DJ, musician, record label and club owner and artist agent. She is considered to be one of the key figures in Berlin's techno and club culture.

Life

Loschelder studied from 1986 to 1992 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Gerhard Richter . In 1992 she moved to Berlin and became involved in the city's electronic music scene. She began to work as a DJ and came into contact with the Swiss artist Daniel Pflumm through appearances in the Berlin electric mini club . There she met the musician Klaus Kotai . Together with Pflumm and Kotai she founded the record label Elektro Music Department (EMD), on which she released two solo records and together with Kotai as Kotai + Mo two albums and four singles. At the same time she worked from 1994 to 1998 in the Berlin record store Hard Wax , where she was in charge of the “Strange Music” department.

After the Elektro had to close, Loschelder founded two more clubs together with Pflumm and Kotai: the Panasonic (1996–1997) and the Init (1997–1999).

After working in various agencies, she founded her own artist agency Media Loca in 2009 , which represents Jan Jelinek , Kammerflimmer Kollektief , Mika Vainio , Patrick Pulsinger , Alec Empire , Electric Indigo , Natalie Beridze , Gudrun Gut , Barbara Morgenstern , Acid Maria and Ilpo Väisänen , among others .

In 1998 their daughter was born. Mo Loschelder lives and works in Berlin.
