DJ Acid Maria , actually Angelika Lepper , is a German DJ and music producer on the electronic music scene. Her musical style ranges between techno and Chicago house . She became known as the resident DJ of the Munich clubs Ultraschall and Harry Klein .

Life

She began her career on December 6, 1992, when she performed at the Jockey Slut Night in the Alcatraz Club in Munich's Glockenbachviertel , which was full of 20 people . In the Munich scene she was initially known as a co-owner of a clubwear store. Acid Maria was involved in Munich's first techno club Ultraschall from the start and soon became a resident DJ here . For the label founded in 1997, International DeeJay Gigolo Records of DJ Hell , she performed and programmed projects. Later she was resident in the ultrasound successor Harry Klein , in the WMF Club and the club series Killekill in Berlin and in the Cologne club Subway .

She has now been playing around the world, including at the Technogeist Festival in Mexico City, at the Womb Club in Tokyo and at Mayday in Dortmund .

She has published productions with Steve Bug , Markus Güntner , the Teichmann brothers and Abe Duque . Together with Electric Indigo she released the DJ mix Female Pressure Presents: World Tour .

Acid Maria studied media art and philosophy / aesthetics as well as aesthetic theories at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts at the State University for Design in Karlsruhe . From 2004 she taught montage at the Film University in Potsdam- Babelsberg .

She is a founding member of the female: pressure network , which works to increase the visibility of women in electronic music. Among other things, she participated in the FACTS study as a member of the core team investigating female participation on the stages of international festivals for electronic music. In 2014 she performed at the Perspectives Festival organized by female: pressure .

DJ Acid Maria lives in Utting am Ammersee .
