Ursula Rickli

Ursula Rickli is a Swiss educator . She is a lecturer in German didactics at the University of Education of the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences .

Life

Ursula Rickli worked as a primary school teacher in the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn from 1973 to 2005. She was a practical teacher from 1989 to 2005 and has been giving further training courses for teachers since 1996. Since 2002 she has been a lecturer in German didactics at the University of Education of the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, and from 2005 atelier director.

Rickli developed a method for primary school children to learn to read with speech movement images or sound tables that correspond to the individual letters and are learned in the sequence shortly before these. The method became known in Switzerland as "Lose, luege, läse", after a revision it was published as "Leseschlau". In addition to Switzerland, the teaching aid is also used in Germany, Austria and South Tyrol. “Lose, luege, läse” received the Worlddidac Award for teaching materials in 1998 .

Rickli is also the author of the foreign language teaching aid "salut, hello!", Which was also awarded the Worlddidac Award in 2006.
