Uta Kummer (born June 17, 1966 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

education and profession

After completing the general polytechnic high school in Halle-Dölau, Kummer attended vocational training as a construction worker with a high school diploma at the Chemistry Construction and Assembly Combine in Halle from 1983 to 1986. From 1986 to 1990 she studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Wismar . From 1990 to 1995 and from 1996 to 2004 she worked as a structural engineer in an engineering office. In addition to her job, she studied urban and regional planning at the University of Oldenburg from 1992 to 1996 . Since 2005 she has been working as a freelancer in her own engineering office.

Kummer has been a member of the SPD since 1990. She held various positions within the Peterswerder / Steintor local association. From 1994 to 1999 she worked as a competent citizen for the SPD parliamentary group in the specialist construction committee on the advisory board at the Mitte / Ostliche Vorstadt local office. Since 2004 she has also been on the board of the Bremen-Stadt sub-district and has been chairwoman of the sub-district since 2012.

From 1999 to 2011 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship, since 2005 as spokeswoman for building policy for the SPD parliamentary group.
