Utho Creusen

Utho CW Creusen (born April 24, 1956 in Bad Honnef ) is a German social psychologist .

In addition to his honorary professorship at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster, he has been honorary professor at the Faculty of Economics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt / Ingolstadt since November 2008. There he deals with the application of positive psychology in questions of leadership, motivation and development of employees in companies. For years he has been leading the Summer School on Positive Psychology, which was founded in the USA by Martin Seligman . In addition, Creusen is the chairman of the jury for the science award of the European Trade Institute.

Creusen has almost 30 years of management experience in various board and management positions in the trading companies Obi , Media-Markt and Saturn . He was a member of the Supervisory Board at Arcandor until 2009 and is currently a non-executive board member at the Russian market leader in electronics retailing M.video and since 2010 at Dixons Retail plc . Since 2013 Creusen has been a member of the supervisory board of the Theo Müller group and Nordsee GmbH .

Creusen is best known for his management performance and scientific work in the field of positive leadership , a leadership model derived from positive psychology. He has implemented and scientifically examined the three elements of positive psychology - flow (engagement), sense (vision) and strength orientation (StrengthsFinder) in numerous companies and was awarded the Leadership Award by the Gallup Institute .

He also worked out and researched the connection between these approaches and the grid model of organizational development . He made decisive progress in building a positive corporate culture .
