Utrecht Psalter
The Utrecht Psalter (since 1732 in the Utrecht University Library , Ms. 32) is a masterpiece of Carolingian book art . It was made around 820 to 835 AD in the Benedictine monastery of Hautvillers and equipped with 166 ink drawings. The Ebo Gospel comes from the same so-called Reims School and probably from the same scribes and illuminators gathered for this purpose .
The tradition of interpreting the psalms derives from the palace school of Charlemagne in Aachen . The Psalter represents many of the cultural achievements of the Carolingian era .
In 2015, the Psalter was declared a World Document Heritage by UNESCO .
