‣ Topic  overview

A uvula piercing is jewelry made through the uvula . It is a particularly rare piercing that many piercers refuse to perform. It is pricked using a special needle that is bent at 90 degrees and is usually not set from front to back, but horizontally to the face.

Cure and Risks

Piercing the uvula must be carried out with particular care. The gag reflex is not triggered when wearing jewelry, but it makes pricking very complicated. Since the uvula is a mucous membrane , the piercing heals particularly quickly and is usually uncomplicated. However, there is a risk that the piercing will grow out and cut the uvula apart. If the jewelry used opens, it can be swallowed quickly. In fellatio , it may also lead to complications.

Jewellery

Usually a ball closure ring with a small diameter and a small material thickness is inserted into the uvula.

history

The uvula piercing is a contemporary piercing with no cultural origins. It was first performed in 1994 by piercer Jon Cobb, who also developed the trans-scrotal piercing .
