Uwe Hübner (born February 14, 1951 in Gelenau / Erzgeb. ) Is a German author . He writes prose , scenic texts, poetry and essays.

Life

Hübner grew up in the industrial village of Gelenau in the Ore Mountains. In 1975 he moved to Dresden . He exercised various professional activities, among other things he was a bookseller. From 1979 to 1980 he lived in East Berlin , where he made contact with the authors of Prenzlauer Berg and opposition groups. In 1981 he went back to Dresden. Between 1982 and 1984 he took part in the production of experimental films in Super 8 format (with Peter Mario Grau and Volker Mehner ). In 1986, during the Dresden Music Festival, the scenic music “Monolog des G.” was premiered - based on a text by Hübner; Composition: Christian Münch , Director: Uwe Hübner. Publications in samizdat publications such as “Second Person” (Leipzig 1988) and “Bizarre Cities” (Dresden 1988). From 1992 to 1998 Hübner worked as a gallery owner; In 1994 he curated the exhibition “Five O 'Clock” at the Dresden City Gallery for Contemporary Art with works by Cornelia Schleime , Rosemarie Trockel , Volker Mehner, Siegfried Anzinger and Jiří Georg Dokoupil .

Uwe Hübner lives as a freelance author in Dresden.
