Uwe Langhammer (* 12. June 1965 in Apolda as Uwe Roßmeisel ) was the last East German champion in the pole vault .

He started his career at SC Turbine Erfurt and switched to SC Motor Jena in 1982 . In 1985 he was third in the GDR athletics championships with 5.30 m. From 1986 to 1990 he won five titles in a row. He improved the GDR record twice. He set his second record at the GDR championships in Potsdam in 1987, this jump of 5.65 m was the highest jump of his career. Uwe Langhammer represented the GDR in 17 international matches; his greatest success was a third place at the 1989 World Cup . In the documents on state doping in the GDR that became public after the reunification , the name of Langhammer was also found among the doped athletes.

Starting for TuS Jena after the end of the GDR , he finished second behind Munich's Bernhard Zintl with 5.40 m at the first German championships after reunification . In 1991 Langhammer started in an international match for the DLV . The trained precision mechanic ended his career after the 1993 season.
