Uwe Patzig

Uwe Patzig (born May 20, 1948 in Gotha ) is a former CDU politician who was a member of the People's Chamber and the Bundestag.

Professional background

After the ten-class POS, Patzig completed an apprenticeship as a tree nursery gardener from 1966 to 1968. In 1972 he began studying horticulture, which he completed in 1975 with a degree in landscaping and green space construction. He then worked in green space and landscape maintenance in Nordhausen until 1990 , most recently in a managerial position as a project engineer at VEB Hochbau Nordhausen. From January 1991 on, Patzig took over the gardening department of the city of Nordhausen. In the meantime he is head of the office for the environment and green space of the city of Nordhausen. In his free time, Patzig is actively involved in the NABU district association in Nordhausen.

Patzig is married and a father of two.

Political career

Patzig became a member of the CDU in 1972. Politically, however, it only appeared at the time of the fall of the Wall. He ran for his party in electoral district 4 (Erfurt district) on list position 14. Since the CDU achieved its highest result in the GDR with 56.3% in the Erfurt district, it won 17 seats and Patzig was a member of the People's Chamber. He was also one of the 144 MPs who entered the Bundestag on October 3, 1990. Patzig became a full member of the Petitions Committee. In the elections to the 12th German Bundestag on December 2, 1990, he ran unsuccessfully.
