Uwe Prause

Uwe Prause (* 1964 / 1965 ) is a former German basketball referee .

Life

Prause was in the A-referee squad of the German Basketball Federation until 2006 , before he left at his own request. During his career as a referee, the Berliner also led matches in the European Cup from 1999 onwards. In November 2005, Prause hit the headlines after he was hit in the head by a plastic bottle in the Bundesliga match between Würzburg and Frankfurt. A supporter of the Würzburg team had thrown the bottle, Prause was awarded 1200 euros in compensation. After his referee career, Prause worked in Germany as a trainer for the world association FIBA .
