Uwe Reichert

Uwe Reichert (born December 17, 1955 ) is a German science journalist specializing in astronomy .

Reichert studied astronomy and physics at the University of Heidelberg and graduated from the state observatory on the Königstuhl . In 1986 Reichert received his doctorate at the Institute for Applied Physics in Heidelberg . This was followed by a research grant in which he dealt with issues of nuclear arms control .

In 1989, Reichert switched to science journalism: initially as an editor for the magazine Spektrum der Wissenschaft , from 2006 as editor-in-chief and CvD of Sterne und Weltraum . From 2008 he was the responsible editor-in-chief there ; Andreas Müller succeeded him in this position in April 2019 .

Reichert was responsible for the texts and the layout of the 1997 Atlas of Constellations , which he created together with the photographer Eckhard Slawik .
