Uwe Zisser (born March 16, 1968 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is a former Austrian tennis player from Salzburg .

Career

Uwe Zisser started playing tennis at the age of six and turned out to be one of the greatest young talents in Austria very early on. At the age of ten to 14, he won not only all Salzburg state championship titles but also all Austrian state championship titles in the youth championships. In 1986 he started his professional career. He played twice on the ATP Challenger Tour: in 1986 he failed in Vienna to Brad Drewett and in 1988 in Graz to Jörg Müller , both times in the first round. Due to a serious injury to his left wrist, he had to end his professional career early, but played for several years at championships in Europe.

His best placements in the ATP world rankings were 609th in singles and 590th in doubles, both in 1987.
