Václav Jiří Dundr

Václav Jiří Dundr (German Wenzel Georg Dunder or Wenceslaus Georg Dunder , Slovenian Venceslav Juraj Dunder ; born February 14, 1811 in Nové Strašecí ; † April 28, 1872 ibid) was a Czech writer and translator, brother of the writer Josef Alexandr Dundr (1802– 1874).

Dundr studied in Prague , managed goods in Styria, took part in the Vienna October Revolution in 1848, then entered the civil service in Lviv , since 1855 in Krakow , then again since 1860 in Lviv. He has published numerous books and articles in magazines in Czech, German, Polish and Slovenian. He began to write under the pseudonym "Novostrašecký" to distinguish himself from the author of the same name Vaclav Dundr (approx. 1817–1888).
