Věra Řeháčková (born August 14, 1950 in Brno ) is a Czech writer.

Life

Věra Řeháčková trained as a saleswoman and then worked in a jewelry store.

Works

The idea for her most successful novel Behind White Bars (Za bílými mřížemi) arose from an essay that she wrote during her apprenticeship. As a young child, she was hospitalized for three months with a heart condition. She wrote down her impressions and achieved great success. In total, she wrote over fifty books, and more are in preparation. Her works are mostly about women in difficult life situations.
