from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VBC Steinhausen ( Volleyball Club Steinhausen ) is a Swiss volleyball club that has been run by President Miriam Hasenmaile since 2009.

history

Steinhausen ZG has had its own volleyball club since May 27, 1997 . After many years of membership in the Steinhausen women's gymnastics club , the volleyball department became independent and founded its own club. With five women, one mixed, three junior women and several mini volleyball teams with around 150 members, VBC Steinhausen plays an active role in regional and national volleyball events.

Club goals

It is a declared goal of those responsible at VBC Steinhausen to achieve a healthy development in the club structure, which is why great emphasis is placed on training and promoting young volleyball players: VBC Steinhausen enables young people interested in volleyball to get started in this sport. The youngest members of the VBC, the mini volleyball players, are introduced to this sport in three groups. Three junior teams with different ages and performance levels enable mini volleyball players who have reached a certain age and / or performance limit to further develop and expand their volleyball experience. The foundation stones are to be laid for a later, possibly parallel deployment in one of the women's teams.

The VBC Steinhausen is known for its targeted promotion of young talent, which is also reflected in the Fanion team. Many of the players were once club's own juniors, something the village club is particularly proud of. For several years now, the VBC Steinhausen Fanion team has been trained and coached by former Bundesliga coach Andreas Grasreiner.

beach volleyball

VBC Steinhausen is also well represented in beach volleyball. Two of the most successful junior beach volleyball players come from the Steinhausen village club. Nina Betschart and Nicole Eiholzer are five-time junior Swiss champions and U19 vice European champions in the beach discipline. In addition, Nina Betschart was two-time world champion at the U21 World Championships, which so far only she and a Brazilian junior have achieved. The two beach volleyball talents are part of the SEAT national team and train at the Zuzu-Beach club (Zurich Unterland).
