Nina Betschart (born October 14, 1995 in Steinhausen ZG ) is a Swiss volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Betschart started her career in the hall together with her friend Nicole Eiholzer at VBC Steinhausen. With the club she made it to the National League B. Later Betschart / Eiholzer formed a beach volleyball duo. From 2008 to 2012 they won the Swiss junior championships in the U15, U18 and U21 categories. In 2011 they finished fifth at the Youth World Cup in Umag and reached the final at the U18 European Championship in Vilnius . With Joana Heidrich , Betschart then became U21 world champion in Halifax, Canada . The following year Betschart / Eiholzer were third in the U18 European Championship in Brno . At the Youth World Cup in Larnaka and the U20 European Championship in Hartberg , they came in fifth. Together with Anouk Vergé-Dépré , Betschart was again U21 world champion in Halifax, Canada. In 2013 Betschart / Eiholzer won a tournament on the Swiss Tour in Locarno . The U21 World Championships in Umag and the U19 in Porto finished fifth again. In Vilnius they won the U20 European Championship. Then Betschart was also U22 European champion with Anouk Vergé-Dépré in Varna . In 2014 Betschart / Eiholzer were able to successfully defend their U20 European championship title in Cesenatico . In 2015 they won the gold medal at the European Games in Baku and then became U22 European champions in Macedo de Cavaleiros, Portugal . Betschart has been playing alongside Tanja Hüberli since 2016 . Betschart / Hüberli won the CEV Satellite Tournament in Baden in 2016 and came third at the FIVB Major Tournament in Klagenfurt . In 2017 they took third place at the FIVB 5-star tournament in Poreč .

In 2021, Nina Betschart and Tanja Hüberli took part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and were eliminated in the round of 16 against their compatriots Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Dépré . They then became European champions in Vienna .
