Tanja Hüberli (born August 27, 1992 in Reichenburg ) is a Swiss volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career beach volleyball
In 2010, Hüberli was the Swiss U21 runner-up. In the same year she took part in the U19 World Championship in Porto with Ines Egger and finished ninth. In 2012 she played an FIVB World Tour tournament for the first time with Marlen Brunner at the Grand Slam in Gstaad . With Fabienne Geiger she finished ninth at the U23 European Championship in Assen . She also reached fifth place in the national championship and took part in the World Student Championship in Brazil. From 2013 to 2015 Hüberli formed a duo with Tanja Goricanec . Together with her, she became Swiss champion in 2013. As the best result on the world tour, Goricanec / Hüberli took fifth place at the Grand Slam in Moscow . With Sarah Leemann , Hüberli finished ninth in the U23 European Championship in Mysłowice . At the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Goricanec / Hüberli were eliminated after the preliminary round despite a victory over the Czechs Bonnerová / Hermannová . In 2014 they became vice European champions in Sardinia . Hüberli has been playing alongside Nina Betschart since 2016 . Betschart / Hüberli won the CEV Satellite Tournament in Baden in 2016 and came third at the FIVB Major Tournament in Klagenfurt . In 2017 they took third place at the FIVB 5-star tournament in Poreč .
At the beginning of August 2020, Hüberli and Isabel Schneider won the second top team tournament of the German Comdirect Beach Tour in Düsseldorf . In 2021, Nina Betschart and Tanja Hüberli took part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and were eliminated in the round of 16 against their compatriots Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Dépré . They then became European champions in Vienna .
Career indoor volleyball
Hüberli started her career at VBC March . The middle blocker then played for third division VBC Pfäffikon . In 2008 she was signed by the first division club TSV Jona . During this time she also played for the Swiss U19 national team. In 2010/11 Hüberli played at VBC Voléro Zurich .
