Nicole Eiholzer (born July 3, 1995 in Steinhausen ZG ) is a Swiss volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Eiholzer began her career in the hall at VBC Steinhausen. With the club, she made it to the National League B. She also inspired her friend Nina Betschart , who she has known since childhood, for this sport. Eiholzer / Betschart later formed a beach volleyball duo. From 2008 to 2012 they won the Swiss junior championships in the U15, U18 and U21 categories. In 2011 they finished fifth at the Youth World Cup in Umag and reached the final at the U18 European Championship in Vilnius . The following year they were third in the U18 European Championship in Brno . At the Youth World Cup in Larnaka and the U20 European Championship in Hartberg , they came in fifth. In 2013 they won a tournament on the Swiss Tour in Locarno . The U21 World Championships in Umag and the U19 in Porto finished in fifth place again. At the EM in Klagenfurt , Eiholzer competed with Romana Kayser , lost the national duel against Forrer / Vergé-Dépré as well as the other two group games and was eliminated after the preliminary round. Together with Nina Betschart, she was U20 European champion twice in a row in Vilnius in 2013 and in Cesenatico in 2014 . In 2015 Betschart / Eiholzer won the gold medal at the European Games in Baku and then became U22 European champions in Macedo de Cavaleiros, Portugal . Eiholzer has been playing alongside Dunja Gerson since 2016 .
