Romana Kayser (born April 27, 1987 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss beach volleyball player .

Career

Kayser finished ninth in 2003 with Muriel Grässli at the Youth World Cup in Pattaya . The following year the duo played for the first time on the World Tour at the Gstaad Open . At the open tournament in 2005 in the same place, Kayser first appeared with Isabelle Forrer . Kayser / Forrer played some tournaments of the world series until 2006, but did not get past 33rd place. In addition, Kayser was vice-European champion of the U20 in 2006. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Mysłowice and 2007 in Modena , she reached ninth place with Grässli. Otherwise she has played internationally with Martina Grossen since 2007 . In the first game of the Euro 2008 in Hamburg they lost against the Belgians Mouha / Van Breedam ; on the losing side they then reached the second round and were eliminated against the Greek duo Koutroumanidou / Tsiartsiani . In the same year Kayser became Swiss champion. In 2009 Kayser / Grossen played three Masters tournaments before finishing 17th in the Grand Slam in Marseille . From 2009 to 2012, Kayser was Swiss runner-up four times in a row.

She returned internationally in 2011 and won the satellite tournament in Vaduz with Grässli . In The Hague she played for the first time with her new partner Joana Heidrich . The duo came in ninth in the Grand Slam in Gstaad in 2012 and came 17th in Klagenfurt . Since 2013 Kayser has formed a team with Grässli again. The reunited Swiss women were eliminated from the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki without a win after the preliminary round.
