Career
In 2001 and 2002 Van Breedam played her first international beach tournaments with Kristien Van Lierop . At the European Championships in 2002 , the duo was eliminated after two defeats against the Latvian duo Minusa / Pulina and the Norwegians Glesnes / Maaseide . In 2003 Van Breedam did not get any top placements alongside Liesbet Vindevoghel .
In 2006 she formed a new duo with Liesbeth Mouha . At the 2006 European Championship , the Belgians had to admit defeat to the eventual winners Schirjajewa / Urjadowa from Russia in three sets . Then they defeated the German duo Eckl / Kaup , before they were eliminated by their compatriots Pohl / Rau . The 2007 World Cup was over for them after the preliminary round. At the following European Championship in Valencia they lost the first two games against the Greek Arvaniti / Karadassiou and the Dutch van Iersel / Wesselink .
In 2008 Mouha / Van Breedam improved their record and achieved a few ninth places in open tournaments and grand slams. At the EM in Hamburg they were only defeated by the Germans Goller / Ludwig and the Norwegians Håkedal / Tørlen , who then faced each other in the final. In August they reached the second round of the Olympic Games in Beijing , third in the group , which they lost to the gold medalists Walsh / May-Treanor from the USA. At the 2009 World Cup in Stavanger , they also reached the last sixteen, which the Brazilians Talita / Antonelli won. In the same year they narrowly missed the bronze medal at the European Championships in Sochi , as they lost the game for third place with 14:16 in the tiebreak against the Swiss Kuhn / Zumkehr .
In addition, Mouha / Van Breedam won the Belgian national championship four times in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010. Their careers together ended in 2010 when Van Breedam went on hiatus due to pregnancy . The previous year had already been problematic due to several injuries to both players (Mouha's abdominal muscles and Van Breedam's shoulder ).
As an indoor volleyball player, she was active among others for the Belgian first division club Asterix Kieldrecht and in Albi , France . In 2004 she played with Kieldrecht in the Top Teams Cup .
