Asterix Avo Beveren is a Belgian women's volleyball club from Beveren ( East Flanders ), which plays in the first Belgian league and in the CEV Cup . The club was created in its current form in the 2016-2017 season from the merger of the clubs Asterix Kieldrecht and AVO Melsele .

history

National league and cup

The club Asterix Kieldrecht was founded in 1969 and has played in the top Belgian women's division since 1990. Since the mid-1990s it has developed into one of the top clubs and has been Belgian champion eleven times since 1998. In the cup competition, the club has been even more successful with fourteen trophies since 1996. In March 2016, Asterix Kieldrecht and the association AVO Melsele, also based in Beveren, announced their merger. The club started under the name Asterix Avo Beveren in the 2016/2017 season.

European Cup

Asterix Kieldrecht has regularly participated in the European women's cup competitions since 1999 . The greatest successes here were the victory in the Top Teams Cup 2001 and the final participation in the Challenge Cup 2010.
