Another year later, with the championship of the third division, promotion to the second division, the Wysschaja Liga A , could be achieved.

The team was reinforced with Ruslan Olichver and Yevgeny Mitkow and won the championship of the second division in 2003. This was associated with promotion to the top division, the Super League. In the 2003/04 season, the Dinamo team finished third in the championship. Because of these successes, Dinamo was eligible to play for the CEV Cup . In order to be able to finance participation in this European competition, Tattransgas became a new main sponsor and the club changed its name to Dinamo Tattransgas Kazan . At the same time, the sponsor's chairman, Rafkat Kantjukow, became the new president of the association.

In the 2004/05 season, the team first won the Russian Cup, reached the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup and again took third place in the Russian championship. With the cup victory, the team qualified for the Top Teams Cup 2005/06, but where they did not get beyond the group stage.

In the 2006/07 season Dinamo Tattransgas Kazan won the Russian championship in the playoff final against VK Dynamo Moscow and qualified for the Champions League of the following season. At the end of December 2007, the team won the Russian Cup competition and automatically achieved a starting place in the Champions League the following season. On May 30, it won the final of the Final Four of the Champions League against Copra Piacenza and thus won the most important trophy in European club volleyball when it entered the competition for the first time.

In June 2008 the club was renamed Zenit-Kazan and the Russian national coach, Vladimir Alekno, was signed as head coach.
