Jastrzębski Węgiel is a Polish volleyball club from Jastrzębie-Zdrój , which plays in the Polish Volleyball League and the Champions League .

National League

Jastrzębski Węgiel plays in the Polish Volleyball League and was Polish champion in 2004. In 2006, 2007 and 2010 the club was runner-up, in 2001, 2003, 2009, 2013 and 2019 it took third place.

European Cup

Jastrzębski Węgiel has been playing on an international level since 2004. In 2004/05, the club survived the preliminary round of the Volleyball Champions League , but then dropped out in the first play-off round. In the CEV Cup they reached the round of 16 in 2005/06 and the quarterfinals in 2006/07 . In 2008/09 they were eliminated in the first round of the CEV Cup, but then reached the final in the Challenge Cup . In 2010/11 the Poles competed in the Volleyball Champions League again . Here they met OK Budvanska Rivijera Budva, Olympiacos Piraeus and ACH Volley Bled in the preliminary round . In play-off 12 they defeated Generali Haching and in play-off 6 Noliko Maaseik . In the semi-finals they lost to Trentino Volley and lost to third place against Dynamo Moscow . In 2012/13 the Poles won the CEV Cup against the French from Rennes Volley 35 and then lost to the Turks from Maliye Milli Piyango Ankara. In 2013/14 the Poles returned to the Volleyball Champions League , where they first played against Halkbank Ankara , Tomis Constanța and Hypo Tirol Innsbruck . In the 2017/18 Champions League season , the club played in Group D with VK Zenit-Kazan , Spacer's Toulouse and the Berlin Recycling Volleys .

Club World Championship

In 2011, Jastrzębski Węgiel won the preliminary round games against Zenit Kazan , Trinity Western Spartans from Canada and Paykan Tehran VC from Iran at the Club World Cup in Doha ( Qatar ) . In the semifinals they defeated SESI Sao Paulo before losing to Trentino Volley in the final and finishing in second place.
