The 2005/06 season in the CEV Cup began with the first round on November 11, 2005 and ended with the final on March 5, 2006. The Italian club Lube Macerata defeated the Russians of VK Iskra Odintsovo in the final .
In the preliminary round there were twelve tournaments with four participants each. The group winners qualified for the round of 16, in which they met four seeded teams. The eighth and quarter finals were played in the knockout system with home and return legs. The winners of the quarter-finals reached the Final Four .
The Moerser SC came in the preliminary round at the tournament in Menen. However, the team from North Rhine-Westphalia did not manage to win and was eliminated from the bottom of the table.
In Soria, SCC Berlin won 3: 1 against the Belgian representative from Halen and 3: 0 against TSV Hartberg, but had to admit defeat to the Spanish hosts 1: 3 in the decisive game and reached second place in the group.
The TSV Hartberg lost not only against the Berliner, but also defeated in his other two games and had to be Table after the first round goodbye.
Schwechat Sokol V was defeated in České Budějovice to the Czech host and the later finalist Odinzowo from Russia. So the final win against Aalborg was worthless.
Chênois Geneva was allowed to host a tournament itself. There the Swiss defeated the Eastern European opponents from Baku and Belgrade, but failed in a game over five sets against the Greek representative PAOK Thessaloniki.
The TV Amriswil lost their first game against the group winners from Patras in Bratislava and therefore missed the round of 16 despite two 3-0 wins against the hosts and Patras from Cyprus.

Preliminary round
In a preliminary round on October 1st and 8th, the Belgian club Halen prevailed against the Hungarians from Kecskemét 3-1 and 3-0.
The Final Four took place on March 4th and 5th in Padua. In the semifinals, the Russian team Iskra Odinzowo defeated the hosts in three sets, while Lube Macerata prevailed with the same result against Paris Volley. The Italians also won the final 3-0. Before that, the French secured third place against Padua. They also only needed three sentences.
